Dave Welford took over as Managing Director of Lödige (United Kingdom) Limited and Northern Elevator Limited on 1 October 2026. Previously responsible for sales in the UK, he now leads Lödige Industries’ activities in Great Britain and Ireland. He succeeds Michael Baul, who is taking on a new role within the group.
In his previous role, Dave Welford played a key part in developing the business and expanding customer relationships in the UK. As Managing Director, he will lead the further development of both companies, building on his experience of the UK market and on established customer relationships.
“For our customers, it is essential that their contacts know their installations, projects and requirements. Dave Welford has helped build many of these customer relationships himself,” says Philippe De Backer, CEO of Lödige Industries. “His appointment reflects our commitment to continuity and ensures that our customers in Great Britain and Ireland can continue to rely on familiar contacts and dependable support, from project to service.”
“I’m looking forward to taking on responsibility for both companies and shaping their further development together with our team,” says Dave Welford. “My particular thanks go to Michael Baul for his support and the foundations he has laid, and to Philippe De Backer for the trust he has placed in me. I’m proud to build on this and to make the most of the opportunities ahead.”
For customers, partners and employees, the existing company structure remains in place. Both companies will continue to trade under their current names, and locations and contacts remain unchanged. Northern Elevator Limited has been part of Lödige (United Kingdom) Limited since 2022. Together, the companies serve their customers from Staines-upon-Thames, Leeds, Newcastle and Dublin.
During his time as Managing Director, Michael Baul made a significant contribution to the growth and development of the UK business. He will remain with the Lödige Industries Group and will initially continue to work in the UK. His future role will be announced in due course.
