On 17 November 2026 Sigma Laser thanks the laser welding community with a free online day; registration is open now for welders, operators and buyers.
Behind every weld seam stands a person who seldom hears a thank-you. Wertschätzung, the German word for appreciation, is Sigma Laser’s answer: one online day on SYN, its free member portal, with nothing for sale and no product launch. The registration for Wertschätzung takes a few minutes and closes at the end of Monday, 16 November 2026, the moment the wheel opens.
Who can take part
Three ways in, one condition:
- the participant works with a laser welding machine or has bought one.
- Welders, operators and technicians working in laser welding, with any brand of machine.
- Operators of a Sigma Laser system, whether new, used or bought through a dealer.
- Buyers of another manufacturer’s laser welding machine who are not welders themselves.
Participants come from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the EU. There is no limit on accounts per company; every person gets their own spin and their own certificate.
How the day works
Four steps, one photo:
- register with name, company and e-mail and confirm by code;
- upload one photo next to the machine, a phone picture is enough;
- a person checks it, usually within one working day;
- on 17 November sign in and spin.
The thank-you wheel is open from midnight to midnight German time, so every verified member spins once whenever the shift allows. A reminder e-mail goes out that morning. Everyone receives a personal certificate of appreciation, whatever the wheel shows. The gifts are visible before anyone spins, each slice shows how many of its gift are left, and a gift that has run out is taken off the wheel. There are three tiers, a main gift, premium gifts and workshop gifts, and the full list appears on the page as soon as the wheel is set up. Physical gifts are shipped free of charge within Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the EU. It is a free prize draw with no stake; the terms of participation are linked on the page. Participants can also post a thank-you of their own to a colleague or a team; selected messages are shown with consent.
Registration closes on 16 November
Register early: the check is done by a person and usually takes a working day, so an upload in the last hours before the deadline may not be verified in time.
“The idea is simple. We see the people at the machine every day in service and support, and they are the ones who make the seam. On 17 November we want to say thank you without selling anything; the wheel and the certificate are simply the form it takes,” says Karsten Danzeisen, Senior Service & Support Engineer at Sigma Laser.
Anyone who already holds a SYN account from the earlier campaigns Der erste Funke or Der zweite Funke does not need to register again, and access to the portal remains after the day.
Registration, photo upload and the wheel are all on the SYN member portal. One photo now secures a spin and a certificate on 17 November.
