HMF Smart Solutions officially inaugurated its new premises at Lise-Meitner-Straße 8 in Flensburg today. Under the theme “A New Location for the Future,” the company celebrated the expansion of its research and development site together with representatives from politics, business and public administration, as well as partners and employees. The move provides more space for collaboration, innovation and continued growth.
Flensburg has been an integral part of HMF for more than a decade and has developed into an important centre of expertise for innovative Critical Communications solutions. Technologies developed here are now deployed around the world. With its new premises, HMF is underlining the strategic importance of the Flensburg site while further expanding its research and development capabilities in Germany.
“Today is not really about a new office. It is about growth. It is about the future. And it is about our confidence in a location that has played an important role for HMF for many years,” HMF CEO Martin Hucke emphasised at the opening.
Alongside its proven TETRA technology, HMF’s development activities are increasingly focused on LTE, 5G and Mission Critical Services (MCX). HMF takes a hybrid approach, combining the robustness and reliability of TETRA with the capabilities of modern broadband technologies. The Flensburg team is playing an active role in developing precisely this next generation of secure communications.
Guests were able to experience what this future looks like in practice through an interactive presentation featuring a mobile MCX showcase. The event also highlighted Flensburg’s importance as a research and development location and the recruitment of highly qualified specialists.
By expanding its Flensburg site, HMF is also reaffirming its commitment to Germany as a technology and innovation hub. “For us, ‘Engineered in Germany’ stands for quality, innovation and long-term responsibility,” Hucke said.
