Following the strategic decision by Applied Materials WEB Coating GmbH (“Applied”) to discontinue its Flexible Technology Group (FTG) activities, VON ARDENNE has entered into an agreement with Applied whereby the German expert in vacuum coating equipment will provide service, spare parts, upgrades, retrofits and technical support for customers with FTG roll-to-roll vacuum coating systems such as TopBeam , TopMet , SmartWeb and TopCoil . VON ARDENNE will also provide new equipment as replacements or expansions.
VON ARDENNE brings decades of proven technical expertise as a pioneer in vacuum deposition and roll-to-roll coating technologies. The third-generation family-run corporation has a global footprint of more than 1,300 employees, multiple production and service sites worldwide, and more than 1,000 vacuum equipment installations around the world.
Given this expertise and these capabilities, and following a carefully planned succession, VON ARDENNE safeguards the operation of the FTG vacuum web coating equipment and future developments through seamless support. Following this transaction, VON ARDENNE strengthens its position as a global leading provider of roll-to-roll vacuum coating equipment.
