As the cosmetics industry continues to move towards more sustainable products and packaging, manufacturers are navigating an increasingly complex balance between environmental ambitions, product safety, quality and performance.
To explore some of these challenges, Tentamus will bring together three experts from across its global network for a webinar on 29 October 2026, covering microbiological safety, raw material verification, and the impact of sustainable packaging on product stability.
Ahead of the webinar, the speakers shared their perspectives on the topics they will be exploring and why they are becoming increasingly important for the cosmetics industry.

Refill Without The Risk: Microbiology in Sustainable Cosmetics
“Refillable cosmetics are becoming more popular and deciding how to balance sustainability with microbiological product safety is an interesting question for manufacturers and microbiologists? Understanding formulation, refillable packaging design and consumer interaction is essential in ensuring that sustainability doesn’t come at the expense of product safety.
I’m looking forward to exploring this topic during the upcoming webinar, sharing some of the practical considerations and testing plans manufacturers and laboratories should be thinking about”.

Sustainable Packaging: Impact on Product Stability
“Sustainable packaging can play an important role in reducing the environmental impact of cosmetic products, but changing packaging materials can also affect product performance and stability. Understanding the interaction between the packaging and the formulation is therefore an important part of ensuring that sustainability choices continue to support product quality throughout its shelf life.
I’m delighted to be joining Laura and Adam for this webinar and to bring another perspective to the discussion around sustainable cosmetics. We will look into the evaluation of the new packaging solutions with regard to their compatibility with the cosmetic formulation, protection against environmental factors, closure system, and intended use of the cosmetic.”

Beyond the CoA: Verifying Cosmetic Raw Materials Before They Enter Production
“Every finished product starts with raw materials, so having confidence in the quality of your ingredients can make the whole manufacturing process smoother.
While a supplier’s Certificate of Analysis (CoA) provides useful information from the lab at the time of testing, who knows what could have happened along the way? Delays in customs or temperature excursions in warehouses can affect your materials, making additional verification on receipt essential.
Just think: if your milk was in date but looked off, you’d sniff it before pouring it over your cornflakes. The same goes for your raw materials!
I’m excited to explore this topic and share my insights in our upcoming webinar!”
