Light it. Scan it. Trust it. LUMIMAX® by Exaktera Showcases High-Performance LED Lighting Solutions at VISION 2026

Source: Deutsche Nachrichten
At this year’s VISION 2026, taking place from October 6 to 8, 2026, LUMIMAX® will be exhibiting for the first time alongside its sister companies as Exaktera in Hall 10, Booth 10C50, presenting itself as a partner for demanding machine vision applications. The exhibition will focus on solutions for logistics and intralogistics, where the reliable identification, tracking, and inspection of material flows must be ensured even under challenging operating conditions.

Automated warehouses, distribution centers, sorting facilities, and conveyor systems place increasingly high demands on industrial imaging systems. Whether dealing with long working distances, high conveyor speeds, reflective packaging surfaces, varying object sizes, or challenging ambient lighting conditions, reliable image acquisition is critical for efficient logistics operations. At the Exaktera booth, LUMIMAX® will demonstrate at VISION 2026 how advanced lighting technologies can help ensure robust code reading, object identification, and inspection performance throughout automated material handling processes.

LBHP Series: Maximum Performance for Long Working Distances, Scan Tunnels or Portal Applications

One of the highlights at the booth will be the modular LUMIMAX® LBHP High-Power Bar Lights. The LBHP series has been specifically designed for demanding machine vision tasks requiring homogeneous illumination of large inspection areas from greater distances. Delivering up to 1 million lux in strobe mode and available in lengths of up to two meters and beyond, LBHP illuminators enable reliable inspection of large objects and extended conveyor sections. Multiple bar lights can also be connected in a daisy-chain configuration within a single system.

For logistics applications, this provides significant advantages. Parcels, containers, and pallets can be captured with high contrast even across wide portals and at high conveyor speeds. This makes the LBHP series particularly well suited for tunnel scanners, conveyor portals, volume measurement systems, and track-and-trace applications in automated sorting and distribution centers.

Extremely short strobe durations ranging from 10 to 750 μs effectively freeze motion, allowing codes, labels, and other identification features to be read without motion blur. To support reliable image acquisition in real-world operating environments, LUMIMAX® also places a strong focus on addressing challenges caused by varying lighting conditions, including flicker effects from artificial light sources, which can impact image stability and reading performance.

In addition, optical accessories such as lens arrays, diffusers, and polarizers enable precise adaptation to individual application requirements. The use of appropriate polarizers can suppress unwanted reflections from glossy labels and packaging films, significantly improving image quality. At Exaktera Booth 10C50, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss these and other application challenges with experts from across Exaktera.

Large Illumination Areas: A Flexible Solution for Changing Logistics Requirements

For applications with varying object dimensions, evolving production requirements, or complex system layouts, flexibility is often just as important as light output. To address these challenges, LUMIMAX® will showcase the modular ML Series.

The modular ML Series bridges the gap between standard products and custom developments, enabling customized sizes, geometries and lighting characteristics without additional development effort. With illuminated areas exceeding one square meter, the system offers the flexibility required for varying object sizes and complex system layouts while ensuring homogeneous illumination and reproducible inspection results.

Extreme Light Output for Demanding Scanning Applications

LUMIMAX® will also present its high-performance LQHP area lights and LQXP Series floodlights, which have been developed for demanding scanning and identification applications. Delivering up to 5 million lux in strobe mode, these solutions ensure reliable data capture even at long working distances, high conveyor speeds and under challenging ambient lighting conditions.

Combined Expertise Across Multiple Industries

At Vision 2026, LUMIMAX® will exhibit as part of Exaktera. With more than 150 years of combine heritage, Exaktera applies its deep technical expertise and real-world experience in machine vision to help system designers make the right decisions easily and fast, ensuring systems perform reliably in real conditions.

In addition to logistics applications, the brands within the group will showcase their expertise in:

  • Food & Beverage
  • Rail & Transportation
  • Hygienic & Washdown
  • Laser Technologies

For visitors, this provides significant added value: the discussion goes far beyond selecting the right lighting technology. Applications can be evaluated holistically together with experts from Exaktera. Depending on the requirements, lighting, laser, and other sensing technologies can be combined to develop powerful solutions for complex inspection, identification, and automation challenges.

Don’t Miss: Presentation at the Industrial VISION Days

Another highlight awaits visitors on October 8, 2026, as part of the Industrial VISION Days:

Wednesday, October 8 | 10:40 AM – 11:00 AM
Light it. Scan it. Trust it. Lighting and Laser for Logistics Applications
Speaker: Linda Müller, Senior Product Technology Manager LED Lighting, Exaktera LLC

The presentation will showcase practical examples of how lighting technologies can be strategically deployed to make logistics processes more robust, efficient, and transparent. The focus will be on reliable code reading, object detection, and process security in modern intralogistics applications.

Visitors are also invited to attend an additional presentation by one Member of Exaktera´s Product Management team on the first day of the exhibition:

Tuesday, October 6, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 1:20 PM
Hygienic Machine Vision: Three Essential Design Principles
Speaker: Povilas Dagilis, Associate Global Product Manager, Exaktera
