On November 19 and 20, 2026, the Stäubli Welcome Center in Bayreuth, Germany will become the meeting point for the automation industry of Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. The North East European Robotics & Automation Summit also marks the first major outcome of Stäubli Robotics’ newly consolidated sales organization.
Under the theme “Shaping the Future of Smart Manufacturing,” decision-makers, automation experts, machine builders, system integrators, and end users from Northern, Central and Eastern Europe will gather at the Welcome Center for the first North East European Robotics & Automation Summit. Over two days, discussions will focus on robotics, digitalization, physical AI, and how to automate production flexibly and cost-effectively.
One region, one point of contact, one team, one platform
The Summit is not a standalone event, but the result of a strategic decision: Stäubli Robotics has consolidated its sales activities across Northern, Central and Eastern Europe and centralized overall responsibility for these growth markets at its Bayreuth location.
In addition to his previous responsibilities, Managing Director Peter Pühringer now oversees the strategic and operational management of all countries in the region as Regional Robotics Director. The goal of the restructuring is to leverage synergies within the European sales organization more effectively, eliminate country-specific organizational boundaries, streamline decision-making processes, and strengthen the company’s market presence in key regions.
“A company operating in multiple European countries can now rely on a single point of contact across all its locations,” says Peter Pühringer. “With the Summit, we’re bringing this benefit to life for the first time. We’ll showcase our portfolio of solutions in one location and connect customers, partners, and experts from all markets in the region.”
For users operating internationally, the new structure means more direct access in the future:
technology, application expertise, and service all from a single source, regardless of where a Stäubli automation solution is installed.
Technical Program on Humanoid Robots, Al, and the EU Machinery Regulation
The event opens on Thursday, November 19 with a keynote address from Simon Schmidt of Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) on the latest developments in humanoid robots and insights from applied research. This will be followed by presentations on the new EU Machinery Regulation, the Cyber Resilience Act, and logistics automation.
A panel discussion on physical AI will bring together representatives from machine building, software development, and manufacturing. Later in the afternoon, experts will discuss areas in which humanoid systems can realistically deliver value in brownfield and greenfield environments. The program is complemented by concurrent workshops covering technologies such as:
- Commissioning with the new generation of controllers
- Automated TCP measurement
- Practical experience with AGV installations
Stäubli integration partners will share groundbreaking solutions in a variety of engaging presentations.
The Friday, November 20 agenda will focus on life sciences, food, and software, including:
- Digital twins and virtual commissioning
- Al-supported quality inspection in food production
- Food applications in hospitality
- New automation concepts for the pharmaceutical industry
A conversation between Stäubli and AI specialist robominds, titled “AI Made in Bavaria: From Vision to Intelligence,” will show how the vision of a self-learning camera system gave rise to robobrain®, the company’s AI‑driven perception platform. In the process, attendees will gain insight into how AI, sensor data fusion, and robotics are working together to set new benchmarks in industrial automation.
Hands-On Technology in Two Application Arenas
Additional highlights include live demonstrations in two dedicated application areas. In the general industry area, Stäubli, along with leading technology providers and integrators from various countries will showcase advanced automation solutions, including:
- AI-powered machine vision and bin-picking
- Stäubli’s CNC Technology Package
- Mobile robot solutions for intralogistics
The dedicated life sciences area will focus on isolator applications, aseptic processes, diagnostic applications, and food processing using hygienic design robots. For several of these applications, Stäubli technology partners make consistent use of artificial intelligence. Visitors will experience firsthand how these technologies create tangible benefits for end-user operations.
A Platform for Cross-Border Exchange
Apart from the technical program, plenty of time has been reserved for networking, enabling participants to forge valuable connections across markets and industries. This exchange is a core element of the Summit. End users from different countries are encouraged to learn from one another and adapt successful automation approaches to their own needs.
