Turbo compressors with integrated gearboxes

For process gas applications involving high volume flows and high pressures,AERZEN offers turbo compressors with integrated gearboxes. The compact radial compressors are individually tailored to meet customer-specific requirements and enable the reliable and energy-efficient compression of a wide variety of process gases.

The Gearbox Turbos are rated for a wide range of process gases and gaseous mixtures – including corrosive, toxic and flammable media – and are configured on a project-by-project basis.

Integrated gearbox for high performance density

The integrated gearbox technology, featuring a central main gear and separate pinion shafts, enables the speed of the individual compressor stages to be adjusted to suit specific applications. This allows the stages to be specifically tuned with their respective operating and compression ratios. The result is high efficiency, a compact design and energy-efficient operation, even under demanding process conditions. Electric motors and steam turbines can be used as drivers.

System expertise in development and manufacturing

Our own R&D centre and in-house manufacturing enable application-specific adaptations with a short time-to-market. The design and rating of the turbo compressors, including all auxiliary packages, are carried out by GPE Turbo, a member of the AERZEN Group. The impellers are manufactured in-house and the rotors are dynamically balanced. The compressors are then fully assembled and inspected. In addition, customised oil systems, technical solutions for gastight seals, as well as PLC programming and measurement technology are developed and integrated in-house. Compliance with API, ASME, DIN and other relevant industry standards is ensured in accordance with the customers’ specifications.

Wide range of applications

The Turbo portfolio for the process gas industry includes both compressor units with bare shaft ends (core units) and complete systems, including peripheral equipment. Typical applications can be found in the oil and gas industry, steel production, power plant technology,  chemical and process engineering and in hydrogen and CO₂ processing. In particular large-scale industrial plants in continuous operation with high volume flows and high pressures benefit from the technological advantages of turbo compressors.

Turbo solutions for a wide range of requirements

In addition to gearbox-driven turbo compressors, AERZEN offers a range of other turbo technologies for demanding process gas compression. The solutions cover pressures of up to 300 bar and volume flows of up to 350,000 m³/h.
