With the DATRON MLmax Pro, DATRON is expanding its CNC milling machine portfolio into a new size category. Designed for the productive machining of large sheets and components, the machine will make its public debut at AMB in Stuttgart from September 15 to 19, 2026.
Large workpieces require more than a correspondingly large machining area. Precision and dynamic performance must be maintained across the entire work surface. At the same time, a modern large-format machine must remain flexible enough to manufacture smaller components efficiently in higher volumes. The DATRON MLmax Pro was developed for precisely this range of applications.
With a work area measuring 1,500 × 3,000 millimeters (59.1 × 118.1 inches), the DATRON MLmax Pro accommodates a widely used international standard sheet format. Its mass-optimized, highly rigid machine structure provides the foundation for precise machining results and dynamic axis movement.
Feed and rapid traverse speeds reach up to 50 meters per minute (164 feet per minute). The currently available 4-kilowatt (5.4 hp) high-frequency spindle delivers speeds of up to 40,000 rpm. This allows the DATRON MLmax Pro to combine its large work area with the DATRON focus on productive high-speed milling.

The DATRON MLmax Pro also follows the established DATRON approach to machine operation. The DATRON next control system uses an intuitive touchscreen interface to guide users through the operating process step by step. This is designed to simplify the transition to large-format machining and support efficient integration into daily production.
Individually controlled vacuum zones allow the machine table to be configured for different workpiece arrangements. The DATRON locating cone system also enables compatible workholding devices to be mounted with repeatable accuracy. This allows the DATRON MLmax Pro to be adapted to a variety of workpieces and production scenarios.

For productive manufacturing processes, DATRON will showcase the DATRON MXCube. This high-speed milling machine combines a high material removal rate with precision and excellent surface quality and is designed for demanding production applications.
The DATRON M8Cube demonstrates the cost-effective machining of aluminum housings, profiles, and front panels. The machine is also suitable for other nonferrous metals and composite materials.
The trade show lineup also includes the DATRON Roughing End Mill Pro. The tool was developed to combine high material removal rates with reliable process performance in demanding roughing applications.
