Montech worked with Visionlink, Mechatronic, and Lexter Italia to develop the MELA demonstration line. Its automated inspection system uses fresh fruit as a demonstration object to show how state-of-the-art image processing and robotics can be combined.
Apples undergo complete quality control at nine test stations – from visual inspection to surface analysis and volume measurement. The LTE transfer system ensures a smooth and stable product flow. Mechanical supports on the pallets ensure that the apples remain precisely positioned – even when changing directions or stopping.
The system’s modular design allows for easy adaptation to different inspection processes and specific requirements in the production environment – regardless of the industry in question.
