The portfolio of high-efficiency transmitters, advanced satellite uplink amplifiers, and future-ready broadcasting capabilities will be showcased at IBC 2026, addressing critical requirements for infrastructure modernization, operational resilience, and long-term cost management.
Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its latest innovations in next-generation broadcasting at the IBC Show 2026, emphasizing operational efficiency and sustainable technology evolution. The company will introduce a new addition to its transmission portfolio designed to optimize efficiency, secure long-term investments, and simplify daily operations. Alongside this launch, Rohde & Schwarz will host its Innovation Theatre at booth 8.B70, offering presentations on new business fields and emerging industry trends.
At IBC 2026, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate terrestrial transmission solutions featuring native support for 5G Broadcast and ATSC 3.0. The company’s transmitter platforms and software-defined receivers allow broadcast network operators to seamlessly adapt to changing standards. This infrastructure enables the deployment of new services such as datacasting, Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), and multimedia emergency warnings.
As satellite network operators face the challenge of updating critical space-to-ground communication links, the R&S®PKU100 Ku-band uplink amplifier showcased at the event provides a viable migration path from legacy tube-based systems to a highly efficient solid-state architecture. The solution allows for a direct 1:1 replacement of aging tube amplifiers within existing configurations, significantly reducing installation effort. By upgrading to this technology, satellite networks achieve immediate improvements in reliability and operational efficiency, while integrated self-monitoring capabilities minimize maintenance requirements and lower the total cost of ownership.
“For decades, Rohde & Schwarz has built a reputation in broadcasting founded on innovation and reliability,” says Steven Edwards, Vice President, Broadcast Distribution at Rohde & Schwarz. “Our latest TV, radio, and satellite solutions deliver exceptional performance while meeting growing technical and audience demands. At IBC 2026, we are proud to showcase our next-generation solutions, ensuring our customers’ investments remain secure and adaptable for decades to come.”
